DAY 3
When trying to figure it out becomes work too.
Today I want to share something from my own journey that I couldn't see while I was in the middle of it.
What today is about
When something doesn't feel right in our body, it makes sense to want to know why.
We might look for a cause.
Try something.
Change something.
Check whether it helped.
And sometimes that's exactly what we need to do.
But there's something else that can quietly happen underneath all of that.
The search for an answer can start requiring effort too.
Not because searching is wrong.
Not because your symptoms aren't real.
And not because you should ignore something that needs appropriate medical attention.
It's simply another place we can become very watchful without realizing it.
Just notice what happens next.
For today, you don't need to stop searching, checking, stretching, researching, taking something that helps, or doing anything differently.
Instead, if you happen to notice a symptom or sensation today, become curious about one thing:
When something doesn't feel right in my body… what do I tend to do next?
Maybe you try to fix it.
Maybe you check it.
Maybe you search for an explanation.
Maybe you wonder what you did wrong.
Maybe you try to make it relax.
Maybe you worry about what it means.
Or maybe something completely different happens.
There's no right answer.
And there's nothing you need to change today.
You're simply beginning to see something that can be difficult to recognize when we're caught inside of it.
Sometimes the effort isn't only in the symptom.
Sometimes there's effort in how hard we're working to make sure we're okay.
That's enough for Day 3.
Don't turn this into another thing to monitor.
Don't try to catch yourself every time.
If you happen to notice it today, notice it.
Then go on with your day.
