Why Does Everything Feel Harder Than It Should?

The hidden connection between recurring tension, fatigue, and how hard your body may be working just to get through the day.

For people who are still getting things done — but are tired of how much it takes out of them.

Maybe the tension isn't the whole problem.

Your neck gets tight.

Your shoulders brace.

Your jaw grips.

Your body feels stiff, heavy, tired or harder to move through the day.

And you may already be doing many of the things you're supposed to do.

Stretching. Exercising. Eating better. Working on your sleep. Taking supplements. Trying to manage stress. Breathing. Mobility work. Massage. Physical therapy.

Some of it probably helps.

But eventually the tension returns.

Your energy drops.

Work takes more out of you.

And things that used to feel relatively easy start requiring more effort.

So the question becomes bigger than:

“Why does my tightness keep coming back?”

It becomes:

“Why is everything starting to take so much out of me?”

What if you're asking the wrong question?

Most of us have been taught to ask:

What can I do to feel better?

How should I stretch?
What should I eat?
Which supplements should I take?
How should I exercise?
How do I lower my cortisol?
How do I reduce stress?
How do I relax?

Those aren't bad questions.

I've spent decades helping people with many of them.

But there's another question I've become much more interested in:

What if they're helping with only one part of the problem?

What if some of what you're doing is helping you recover from what has already accumulated...

while something else keeps quietly adding more?

In This Live Workshop

We'll look at the problem from a very different angle.

Why doing more of the “right things” doesn't always change the pattern

Stretching, movement, better sleep, nutrition, breathing, exercise and stress reduction can all be useful. We'll look at why you may still keep ending up back in the same place.

The difference between unwinding and actually downshifting

Why pushing all day and completely checking out at night may not be the same thing as learning how to recover.

The two gears many of us unknowingly live in

Push. Override. Keep going. Then collapse. And what may exist between those two extremes.

Where some of your capacity may actually be going

We'll look beyond how much you're doing and begin examining how much effort your body may be using while you're doing it.

A simple experiment you can experience for yourself

Not another technique to master. Just a chance to notice something in your own body instead of simply taking my word for it.

This isn't another workshop about learning how to relax.

Why recurring tension may be only one part of the story

We'll look at why tension can keep returning — and why the bigger issue may be how much effort ordinary life is costing you.

Why the things you're already doing may still be useful

We're not throwing out stretching, exercise, sleep, movement, nutrition, breathing or stress management. We'll put them into a larger picture.

The difference between relief and recovery

Feeling better matters. But we'll explore why recovering from what has already built up may not be the same as changing how your body moves through the day.

Push, collapse — and the missing gears

Why capable people can spend years moving between high effort and complete exhaustion without realizing there may be other options.

The hidden effort experiment

You'll experience a small experiment with me so you can begin exploring this in your own body instead of simply accepting another theory.

This workshop may be especially useful if...

  • You still get things done — but it takes more out of you than it used to.
  • You deal with recurring tension, tightness, stiffness, aches or a body that feels constantly “on.”
  • You tend to push through because you have responsibilities and things that matter to you.
  • You've already tried many of the “right things,” and some help — but the overall pattern keeps returning.
  • You're starting to wonder why work, exercise, concentration or everyday life seem to cost so much.
  • You want an explanation that goes deeper than “you're stressed” or “you just need to relax.”

Somewhere inside you're thinking:

There has to be a better way to live than constantly pushing myself and then recovering from it.
